An accident or a sign from Above ?

For the past year or so since work from home started , I have developed a habit of scrolling through Google news for 10–15 mins in the mornings. I do this during afternoons also, typically between 2–3PM. If you ask me why do I do this I wouldn't have a good answer. My day to day life would in no measure be affected by what’s happening in Lebanon, or New Delhi or Wall Street. Yet , I read news compulsively , everyday. So today when I typed for my usual dose of news in my Google search bar, I was surprised to see the search results. Instead of the usual attention grabbing headlines, I was seeing a collection of positive stories (see the picture above). Turns out I had absent mindedly typed “good news” . Now, was this a sign from Above ? Maybe ,but its a sign worth exploring. What would I really miss from my life if I didn't read news for a few days? What does all this anxiety causing stuff really give me that I keep going to seek it daily ?

So in the spirit of new beginnings, I want to try two new things:

1.Not watch or read news for a few days

2.Be fully focused during zoom meetings and not check email/slack/phone. Be 100% present in the moment.

Will let you all know how my experiment goes, but its definitely worth a shot.
